Commissioner’s Message

Around the world every day children go missing. Missing children can suffer physical and emotional harm. Families suffer great trauma during the time when children are missing. An Garda Siochana is acutely aware of the effects on everyone concerned and, consequently, the investigation of missing children is given the highest priority. Such investigations are, on occasions, quite complex and can be further complicated by the fact that they may involve cross-border activity.

This website has helped to secure information which has resulted in missing children being found. On many occasions the smallest piece of information has made all the difference in identifying the whereabouts of a missing child. It is for this reason that I appeal to you to provide the Garda Siochana with any information you may have about the disappearance of a missing child or its current whereabouts.

Finally, I wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has brought information to the Garda Siochana. Please remember that your information could help the Garda Siochana return a missing child to its family. If dialing from Ireland you may use the Garda Confidential Telephone No. 1 800 666 111, e-mail the Garda Missing Persons Bureau at missing_persons@garda.ie , or contact any Garda Station. Details of Garda station listings are available on the Garda web site www.garda.ie
